Dear MECA members,
As-salamu-alaikum.
You might be aware that MCC Authority has taken up the project of making a new “Gate” to the college at the entrance, which is in an advanced position in terms of construction. The structure has been built already and finishing works are on going.
Great thing to inform you is that the structure has been designed by our ex-cadet brothers, Sabbir (1923/SH) and Sharif (1924/SH) from Batch 36 and Architect Minhas Bhai (700/SH) from B13 is guiding them, while college authority is providing full full support to this construction.
It was an ambitious project though, on requests from MECA EC, ex-cadets from Batches 12, 16, 36, Hon’ble GOC 9 Div and Runner Group kindly came forward. So far, about BDT 57.58 lacs has already been spent and to finish the project, another BDT 25-30 lacs will be required. At this moment, the project is in a stand still position due to shortage of fund. Please note, initial estimated project cost was BDT 55 lacs but due some changes in design and increase in construction material price, the budgeted cost is exceeding.
MECA believes, it will hamper the glory of our beloved Alma Mater, Mirzapur Cadet College, if it is left half-done. But if it is finished, it will take the look of our beautiful cadet college to a different level. As such, on behalf of MECA President, Executive Committee and MCC Authority, I, hereby, request all ex-cadets from different batches to kindly come forward in group or individually and donate as per respective ability.
